bb84 Wallet
Status: On devnet · Group: Identity & security
One Falcon-512 signature, any instruction.
bb84 Wallet is a smart account on Solana controlled by a Falcon-512 key. It holds SOL, owns token accounts and calls other programs, and one Falcon signature authorises a whole transaction.
How it works: a smart account behind every registered key
- Bound to the exact instructions. The Falcon key signs the program, entry, nonce, expiry slot and a sha256 of every program ID, account, flag and data byte. A relayer can't change the recipient, the amount, the order or the expiry, and can't replay.
- Safe by default. The wallet can't call the vault program itself, requests expire after about a minute, and bad account indices fail cleanly.
- Fits one transaction. One 666-byte signature leaves room for a SOL transfer plus a memo, or one SPL token transfer. Bigger calls will use address lookup tables.
Cost per transaction (measured on devnet)
| Instruction | Compute | Transaction size |
|---|---|---|
execute_pq: SOL transfer + memo | 335,007 CU | 1,112 B |
execute_pq: SPL token transfer | 304,119 CU | 1,092 B |
execute (Ed25519, before Q-Day) | 8,196 CU | — |
What works on devnet
- Owner (Ed25519) runs instructions with
executebefore Q-Day - Falcon-signed SOL transfer plus a memo signed by the wallet
- Falcon-signed SPL token transfer from a wallet-owned token account
- Redirected payments, changed amounts, replays and expired requests are rejected

Next: from the command line to the browser
- Relayer service. Accepts Falcon-signed requests and pays the fee, so no terminal is needed.
- Browser wallet. Creates the Falcon key and signs in the browser. Download: {{WALLET_DOWNLOAD_URL}}
- Behind a name. Every Quantum ID comes with a bb84 Wallet.
